"Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before," Bokonon tells us. "He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way." This quote reminds me back to Bokonon, he talks about how people how are ignorant are the people who do not learn anything from studying. In reality though Bokonon is the ignorant one, he does not care about human lives. So humans to him are just pawns used for a greater good. Nothing matters to him except the advancements of technology and Bokonoism. Bokonon uses manipulation from the gecko. He gives the people on the island false hope. These people believe Boknon over Felix. Felix is a scientist and he believes science as the proof for everything but Bokonon uses his false religion to capture the peoples mind. This shows in the future that people will do anything in order to gain absolute power.

"I, mud, sat up and saw what a nice job God had done."
"Nice going, God!"
"Nobody but You could have done it, God! I certainly couldn't have."
"I feel very unimportant compared to You."
"The only way I can feel the least bit important is to think of all the mud that didn't even get to sit up and look around."

Even though the author switches from being a Christian to a Bokonoist this quote references back to Christianity. People are the mud and they are not important compared to God. Everyone in the world is small and not even as important as God. To feel important even a tiny bit is to go around and look at what God has created. Humans job in life is to find out and explore the world that God has created for Us. People use manipulation all the time to manipulate peoples lives. In this passage Vonnegut uses religion to manipulate peoples mind.

Technology
"Perhaps, when we remember wars, we should take off our clothes and paint ourselves blue and go on all fours all day long and grunt like pigs. That would surely be more appropriate than noble oratory and shows of flags and well-oiled guns." With the advancement of technology comes the advancement of weapons. War has a connection with technology, technology creates weapons and weapons creates war. The quote shows that humans are just like animals, humans aare like the royal not like animals so why do people fight? To be human in this quote references that humans are power hungry and everyone jsut cares about killing eachother. This quote is relevent to our current society, alot of people in the United States wonders why are there soilders still in Iraq. Many Americans blame George Bush, in several newsports there were videos of innocent people getting killed. The advancements of weapons are scary and dangerous. People are described as animals and that people should just run around on all fours, from this quote I think that humans don't necessarily see the suffering caused by wars and weapons. The atomic bomb which Hoenikker created shows that humans dont really care about other peoples lives.

Technology And War
"The book was to be an account of what important Americans had done on the day when the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan." The development of the atomic bomb destroyed thousands of lives and will be remembered in history. The author Kurt Vonnegut Jr. writes this book showing what people were doing on the day of the dropping of the atomic bomb.In my previous blogs of technology, nothing ends good with the development of technology. Technology always in some way destroys society or creates a dystopian society, Vonnegegut captures this masterfully. Vonnegut shows that Felix does not care about human life and that he only cares about the development of society. He doesnt care at all what happens to him. This is a representation of the future, technology, advancements of weapons will kill hundreds of thousands of people.

Global Warming
After the movie was over, there was a big stream of commercials and movies that had to do with global warming. People started to look and read about global warming and the green house effects. This shows that the movie did have an affect on society and it used images and music to manipulate people to think about global warming.

Eureka
This show is a representation of the future and the advancements in technology. In one of the episodes, in the opening seen a little boy is left alone due to his parents committing suicide. There was a funeral for his parents that are dead, at the end of the funeral a ghost appears in the background. As the show progress, everyone finds out that only the dad had committed suicide and the mom was still alive. The police officers was shocked and questioned how she is still alive and why is this lady in front of their eyes when she was in the coffin a day ago. The show is freaky and thrilling, there are 1 or 2 more appearances of the ghost that roams around the city. The ghost affects electronics around it, an example was when a tow truck was being operated, the truck and the vehicles around it malfunctioned and started to go off (alarm system). A very cool seen in the show was when the main character was lent a house to stay in. The house was voice automated and had cool gadgets, the bathrooms came from the walls, the refrigeration supplied beer, television could be watched anywhere, and the house adjusts to the masters preferences. This show, show us that the future will be all messed up and many more supernatural events will happen because the creation of technology. In the show humans use their voice to manipulate other people, an example from the show was when an FBI agent told the little boy with no parents everything will be okay. Nothing was okay, the FBI agent doesn't even know whats happening and what will happen to the kid. Overall the show signifies the advancements in technology by showing upgraded remote controls and automated houses. This show is a good example of how the future might look like, the show shows that the present is good as it is and there's not really a need to have such great leaps in technology. As technology gets greater the more dangers there will be in the future.
